Orange to launch ‘Wine & Food Guide’ at Sydney Cellar Door

The winemakers of Orange, in partnership with the region’s food producers, will launch the 2012 ‘Orange & District Wine & Food Guide’ at the upcoming Sydney Cellar Door in Hyde Park on the 25th and 26th of February.

The inaugural guide encompasses six wine and food trails within the Orange region.  These trails segment the Orange region into relaxed day trips from town and comprise the Borenore Trail, Eastern Heritage Trail, Canowindra Trail, Town Trail, Mountain Run and Cargo Road.

“Orange has so much to offer our visitors in the way of food and wine,” commented Taste Orange Executive Officer Rhonda Sear. “The collaboration between food producers and the winegrowers in Orange is wonderful, lending itself to the creation of these new food and wine trails.”

“We have seen steady growth in the number of visitors to the region, with many coming to enjoy Orange’s wine and food through the various festivals such as Orange Wine Week, the Slow Summer Festival, Frost Fest, as well as the upcoming F.O.O.D. Week Festival, which is in its 21st year.”

The new ‘Orange & District Wine & Food Guide’ will incorporate new QR code technology, with the objective of making it easy for travellers to view the maps and the information via their smartphones whilst on the road.

“The Sydney Cellar Door will be a fantastic way for Sydney-siders to experience a snippet of Orange.  The 17 winegrowers will have their wines with them for tasting, and the Taste Orange stall will have information on the region, including dining and accommodation opportunities.  The Orange Apples team will also be joining us, ensuring visitors taste another side of Orange.”
